JOHN GREEN

Considered by many to be "Mr. Sasquatch", Green is renowned for his collection of numerous sighting reports (more than 3000) and a definitive book on the subject: "Sasquatch: The Apes Among Us". A newspaper reporter by profession, Green began his research into Bigfoot in the 1950’s- around his native Harrison Hot Springs, B.C.- one of the hotbeds of Bigfoot sightings in the last hundred years. Working in collaboration with Rene Dahinden, the two began to share sighting information, called themselves field researchers and avoided the intrusion of academics who strayed into their domain. Many consider the two characters in the 1987 film- "Harry and the Hendersons" to be based on the them (Don Ameche, tall, lean and serious= John Green, David Suchet, French Canadian hunter= Rene Dahinden). Today, John is frequently called upon whenever another Bigfoot footprint is discovered and he remains adamant about the existence of "something out there". He maintains it’s easier to believe in the existence of a big, hairy creature than in an army of podiatrists, travelling the globe constructing expertly-produced footprints to fool a few hunters and local residents who stumble upon them.
